Then Survive a Catastrophic Event
* NEWS FLASH *
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano warned … that a major
cyber-attack is a looming threat and could have the same sort of impact as Superstorm Sandy,
which knocked out electricity in a large swathe of the Northeast.
Napolitano said a "cyber 9/11" could happen "imminently" and that critical infrastructure - including
water, electricity and gas - was very vulnerable to such a strike.
"We shouldn't wait until there is a 9/11 in the cyber world. There are things we can and should be
doing right now …”

What would you do if you were suddenly thrust into a world with no safe drinking water running
from your faucets? Or no electricity to run your home appliances; to heat your home, or cook your
meals?
Of course you would turn on your radio to find out want’s going on out there. But wait, no
electricity, so no radio; same with the TV. Then you remember that your PC, iPhone, iPad and all
your other communication devises all run on batteries. So you try them all. All to no avail. You start
to get a sinking feeling in your gut. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Secretary Napolitano was talking about an eventual cyber-attack, but every day we live in constant
danger on this planet from other events. Every year, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes and fires around the
globe take thousands of lives and cause millions of dollars of property damage. Every so often, though,
there is a natural disaster that is truly spectacular in scope. These disasters, like the 2004 Indian Ocean
Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti Earthquake of 2010 and the 2011 Tōhoku, Japan earthquake and
tsunami will remain etched in the memories of survivors for generations.
With no electricity in and around your area for the foreseeable future the city waters cannot pump. The
gas stations cannot pump. The ATM's cannot work. The food in your refrigerator will spoil. People will get
hungry and they will get desperate. Pretty soon they will take what you have so that they can survive.
Multiply this scenario neighborhood wide, city wide, state wide, region wide. How about country wide?
Again – What would you do if you found yourself in this scenario? How would you feed and protect your
family? If you think this can’t happen to you just ask the victims of:
  • The Huang He River flood in 1931 is the worst natural disaster in living memory. It killed anywhere
    from 850,000 to 4,000,000 people.
  • 250,000 were killed in Tangshan by a 7.5 quake in 1976.
  • In 2010, an earthquake in Haiti killed an estimated 100,000 people and rendered perhaps a million
    more homeless.
  • 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, aka the Japan Tsunami of 2011 which recorded 15,854+
    deaths.
  • Tropical cyclone that struck the Ganges Delta in East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, in 1970. Between
    500,000 and 1,000,000 people were killed.
  • Hurricane Katrina, which struck Louisiana and Mississippi in 2005, caused 1,836 deaths; but the
    $100 million in property damage it caused make Katrina the costliest tropical cyclone in history.
  • The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami is the deadliest tsunami on record. It was caused by a massive
    magnitude 9.3 earthquake that shifted the North Pole by one inch and killed an estimated 230,000
    people.
  • Other natural disasters that have caused significant loss of life are landslides, tornadoes and
    volcanoes.
Yes all those victims thought just like you – that it would never happen to them.
Again – What would you do? Are you and your loved ones prepared? Do you know where/how to find food;
where/how to find drinking water; where/how to build shelters, just plain make it from day-to-day?
You can do this. It’s not hard. But only if you know what to do.
I have written an easy-to-follow manual that will, not only open your eyes to see disasters with a
different perspective, but help you to the light at the end of the tunnel.
WOW! This was really an eye opener. You don’t have to be
a Prepper or a Survivalist, or even paranoid, to really get
something out of this. In fact I think this was written for
everybody else except them. Nice job guys. I started
planning when I was only halfway through this manual.
